Gerry Hyner who chairs The Guildford Quilters,  said: “We have an exhibition of our work every three years. The last time was at Holy Trinity Church at the top of the High Street, four years ago because of the pandemic.

“Our work is traditional and contemporary, whole quilts, wall hangings (pieces of art), clothing items and useful items for the home. We were 90 strong during the pandemic but now have 60 members with a waiting list. Our membership comes from all over Surrey.

“We chose Place Farm Barn, at West Horsley Place because of the lovely space for a backdrop of our work and because it has set up as an arts venue hosting various art exhibitions. Parking is easy there and the house and gardens and  grounds very interesting to visit (see its website). We are hosting a preview with various arts organisations.

“There will be demonstrations of techniques and styles of piecing and quilting and various traders selling material, thread and other sewing-related items will be there as well.

“Some items on display wiil be for sale and there will be an extensive sales table of beautiful handmaid items. Entry is free but we encourage our visitors to buy raffle tickets where prizes include quilts and embroideries and other goodies.”
