Music for the Mind is a friendly new support group which meets every first and third Thursday of the month at the Guildford United Reformed Church at 89 Portsmouth Road.

Pioneered by Tom Bollingmore, a care manager for leading live-in care agency Corinium Care, the sessions promote the benefits of music therapy in boosting memory and cognition, particularly for the elderly and those affected by dementia.

Music for the Mind support group.

The group is led by professional singer and guitarist Paul Tickner. Sessions run from 1.30pm to 3pm, with the opportunity to chat over refreshments, followed by singing and playing along to a variety of classics. From traditional tunes to blues, jazz and folk, participants are guaranteed to be entertained and meet new friends at the same time.

The group is free and open to all who wish to find out more about the benefits of music for the mind – both individuals and carers alike.

Call Tom Bollingmore on 01483 481000 to reserve your place.
