A new exhibition at Ripley Museum, mounted by the Send and Ripley History Society, tells the story of the King family, who owned Ockham Park and much of the land around it from the 18th century, until the estate was sold in 1958.
Go and learn more about Ada Lovelace, wife of the 8th Baron King, William King-Noel, and first Earl of Lovelace.
Ada is now heralded as a computer pioneer, chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage’s proposed mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine – but her mother was also a remarkable innovator in the field of education.
The exhibition runs from 10am to 12.30pm every Saturday until the end of July.
Ripley Museum is next to Ripley Village Hall. For more information, visit https://sendandripleyhistorysociety.co.uk.
