Everyone loves pirates and rehearsals for the Herald Players’ summer family show are attracting plenty of ‘Ahaarrs’ and ‘Pieces of Eight’ from passers by.
Treasure Island is the third children’s classic to be adapted for performance in the Castle Grounds by Jane MacIntyre, who also directs.
The hallmark is a lively, fast-moving story-line which is true to the original in the spirit of children at play. So it’s all hands on deck for a high seas adventure, as Jim the cabin boy and John Long Silver race to find Captain Flint’s buried treasure.
Treasure Island will run in the Castle Grounds from Wednesday to Saturday, July 25 to 28. Performances start at 7.30pm, with gates open from 6pm.
