Notice: Volunteer Treasurer And Trustee Required by Cherry Trees Charity

Cherry Trees, the charity that provides home-from-home, specialist short-break respite visits for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities, is recruiting for a volunteer trustee and a treasurer.

Based at East Clandon, Cherry Trees is a unique place, providing professional care in a safe, stimulating and fun environment, where every child is valued for who they are.

It is a community that is dedicated to children and young people, enabling them to spend time with friends and enjoy new experiences and opportunities, while their families have a much needed break from care themselves.

Cherry Trees requires a trustee with a medical background.

Key objectives of the role are:

To provide strategic advice to the trustees on medical matters as regards the operation and development of the charity within the direction set by the chairman of the trustees.

To help ensure that the charitable purposes and values are followed and that it delivers the charitable benefit set out in the Cherry Trees Vision and Statement of Purpose.

To ensure the trustees receive applicable advice, recommendations and information on medical matters in an effective, thorough and timely manner.

To ensure the trustees receive advice, recommendations and information on financial matters in an effective, thorough and timely manner.

To ensure its reserves policy is adhered to, especially with regard to growing the investments of Cherry Trees, which ensure future financial stability.
