Surrey women’s cancer charity, GRACE, is thrilled to announce it has created a limited-edition bespoke gin to raise funds this festive season.

The ‘Spirit of GRACE’ is a limited edition handcrafted gin, created in collaboration with award-winning Hawkridge Distillers, the producers of England’s Number 1 London Dry and costs £39.99 for a 70cl bottle.

Funds raised from every sale of ‘Spirit of GRACE Gin’ will go directly to support women in treatment at Royal Surrey County Hospital and the surrounding areas diagnosed with gynaecological cancer.

In the UK, 21,000 women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancers every year. For over 15 years, GRACE – Gynaeoncology Research and Clinical Excellence – has been working to improve treatment, recovery and survival rates for women with all five gynaecological cancers.

And fundraising this Christmas is more important than ever. GRACE Fundraising Manager, Gemma Hodgkiss explains “After a tough 18 months, we were looking for new ideas and the idea of a bespoke gin seemed such a novel and festive way for people to support us this Christmas. And was not something I’d seen before!

“We’re thrilled that 30% of every purchase will go towards GRACE’s vital work. We desperately need to raise funds so that we can remain dedicated to local women receiving cancer diagnoses and move into 2022 with confidence our important work can carry on. Our Gin is the epitome of Shop Local – to use your Christmas shopping list to really make a difference to the mums, sisters, grandmothers and friends in your community.”

GRACE was founded to help answer the questions that affect a woman’s likelihood of surviving her cancer – but also how to improve her quality of life beyond a diagnosis.

GRACE funds ground-breaking research to improve cancer treatment and aid recovery, as well as providing hospitals with specialist surgical equipment. GRACE also supports women by raising awareness of the symptoms of all five gynaecological cancers because they know early diagnosis saves lives.

GRACE Founder, Mr Simon Butler-Manuel; “The problems our women face are not much talked about and are not even very well funded. So funds raised by our fantastic gin this Christmas are much needed and very much appreciated by the doctors, nurses and researchers involved in our team.
