Pedestrian Critically Injured

A pedestrian was critically injured this morning when she was struck by a car in Guildford Park Road.

The collision occurred near the junction with Guildford Park Avenue at around 6.35am.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. At 9.45 am the road was still closed while on-scene investigations were carried out.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a collision between the driver of a Volkswagen Polo and a pedestrian in Guildford earlier today (19 January)

“If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or have any information, including dashcam footage which could help our investigation please contact us quoting PR/45240006923
