Guildford Borough Council has published details of half term (February 13 to 18) activities for children and young people.

From 1.15pm to 2.15pm on Monday, February 13, Guildford Spectrum will host a Synergy Dance Workshop, suitable for six- to 12 year-olds, which includes an introduction to basic dance techniques, as well as acrobatic postures, balances, limbering and tumbling skills.

If your child loves to dance and dreams of being a Jedi, the Spectrum will host a Star Wars-themed workshop, where they can learn some dance/combat moves, practise their light saber skills and dance to the songs from Star Wars. Suitable for five years and upwards, from 1.15pm to 2.15pm on Wednesday, February 15.

For three- to seven-year-olds the Frozen Workshop at the Spectrum is bound to be popular, as they explore scenes and songs from the smash hit film and learn and create dances – complete with ‘snow’.

From Monday to Saturday, February 13 to 18, the Electric Theatre will host its annual February Family Festival for three- to 12 year-olds with theatre, films, workshops, free storytelling and arts and crafts.

GLive will also be joining in the half-term fun. Eight- to 14-year-olds can create their own piece of classical music on a two-day creative composition and performance workshop, suitable for all abilities, taking place from 10am to 4pm on Monday and Tuesday, February 13 and 14.

Also at GLive, 12- to 17 year-olds can try their hand at animation with a Stop Motion Masterclass from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, February 16.

Younger residents will be catered for at Boxgrove Children’s Centre, where various activities and services will be held throughout the week for families with children aged four years and under.
