Surrey Police is appealing for anyone who might have CCTV recordings that could help them investigate the spree of car vandalism that occurred in Guildford and further afield, in the early hours of Sunday (June 11), to come forward.

Officers are specifically appealing information relating to the Gardner Road incident, where vehicles were damaged between 2:30am and 3:30am.

PC Matthew Crane, who is leading the investigation, said: “Do you have CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident? Do you know the driver of the small black car? Have you overheard someone indicating they may be responsible for these incidents?”

Officers would like to speak to the driver of a small black vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen Polo, which was seen parked at the rear of Gardner Road at this time, as he or she may have information to assist our investigation.

The police are linking this with a number of similar incidents recently in which vehicles were damaged in Guildford and Woking. We would like to talk to anyone who may have information that can assist our investigation or may not have reported their vehicle window being smashed in these areas recently.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey Police using the online reporting system found at  https://report.police.uk and entering the reference number 45170061419 in the ‘Additional information’ section.

“Alternatively, you can call Surrey Police on 101 quoting the reference number. Information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
