Investigating officers are continuing to appeal for the public’s help following a fatal collision on the A3 on Tuesday, January 11.
Police were called to the A3 between the Send Junction and the Guildford Junction at around 1:30am following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a car.
The woman, believed to be in her mid-twenties, was sadly pronounced dead. Formal identification is yet to take place.
A 22-year-old man from Ottershaw was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, driving whilst unfit through drink and causing death by undue care whilst over the prescribed limit.
He has since been released under investigation.
A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing to any members of the public who haven’t contacted us already to get in touch with any further information.
“If you were on the A3, northbound or southbound over the course of that early morning or late the night before (Monday, 10 January) then please contact us. We are particularly looking to speak to the drivers of two heavy goods lorries, which were travelling on that area of the A3.
“If you have any information, dashcam footage or may have seen any pedestrians on the A3 that night contact us straightaway quoting incident reference PR/ 45220003427 via:
