The Big Wheel – Spring into Action will be a free community and family event focusing on cycling, walking, running and healthy living, taking place at Bannisters Field (near Guildford Tesco store) on Saturday, May 30.
There is still time for groups and organisations who are activity or sports related to take part. Volunteers are also needed to help on the day to make the event run smoothly.
Visitors of all ages will enjoy lots of things to do, demonstrations, plus there will be information and advice stands.
Those already taking part include The Guildford Bike Project, British Heart Foundation, Motivate Stoke, Guildford Wellness Academy, Discover Archery, Travel SMART, Play Rangers and many more.
There will also be a display based on Guildford’s cycling history and it is hoped some people may even bring along their vintage bikes to show off as well as the cycles they ride today!
It is being organised by the Joining In! project (that promotes community development in the Westborough ward), with support from Guildford Borough Council.
There will be refreshments available and the event runs from 11am to 4pm.
If you would like to be involved, email thebigwheeljoiningin@gmail.com or call Joining In! co-ordinator David Rose on 07825 419408, Guildford Borough Council community warden Tracy James on 07767 475822, or community events co-ordinator Sheila Willis on 01483 234667.
