Was this nurse a hero? Perhaps to this little girl or to her concerned parents?

We all rely on our local hospital at some stage of our lives and often it is difficult to express the gratitude we feel is due to the staff who treat and nurse us, or perhaps those who support the doctors and nurses. Where would any hospital be without porters and cleaners, for instance?

Each year, the Royal Surrey County Hospital calls for people to nominate a member of staff or a team for our Patients’ Choice Award.

Have you come across an employee or team at the Royal Surrey who stand out or go the extra mile?

The award, which has featured in the ceremony for the past five years, provides an opportunity to thank staff who deliver outstanding service on a daily basis.

The finalists of this category will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in December.

Nominations are welcome from anyone served by the Royal Surrey County Hospital, including patients, carers and family members.

There are two ways to nominate:

1) Via the Royal Surrey County Hospital’s website: www.royalsurrey.nhs.uk, complete the online nomination and click submit,

or,

2) Complete a nomination form, available from reception or by request from a member of staff.

Forms should be completed in accordance woth the guidelines provided and posted/delivered to: The Communications Office, Level A, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Egerton Road, Surrey, GU2 7XX.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on August 19 2016
