Leanne, who works locally at Thomson Ecology based at the Surrey Research Park, has been busily fundraising for the charity since the end of last year.

Thomson Ecology has adopted the YMCA as its chosen charity for 2014 and so far Leanne has co-ordinated a number of fundraising events including running the Reading half marathon with three other work colleagues, as well as organising a pasta party and a ‘wear a onesie to work’ day to raise money.

Pete Brayne from the YMCA said, “Leanne has been doing amazing work for us over the last few months fundraising for the Life Change Fund. We hope that local people and companies can really get behind her and support her as she runs the London Marathon on April 13.

“We want to raise as much money as possible for this important fund which is aimed at supporting hundreds of young people through periods of change in their lives. There is a growing demand for housing young people in the county, many of whom are under 18 years of age. Our aim is to get them off the streets and into a safe environment so that they can be encouraged to make positive choices about their lives.”

If you would like to support Leanne, you can do so at her YMCA fundraising page https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/leannewall.
