Did You See Sexual Assault at Guildford Taxi Rank?

Feature Surrey police badge 3Detectives in Guildford are appealing for witnesses following an incident in which a young woman was sexually assaulted by touching at a taxi rank in Guildford at the weekend.

The offence happened at around 3.15am on Sunday (June 29) when the victim, a 19-year-old woman from Woking, was waiting for a cab at the taxi rank in North Street.

Detective Constable Richard Cooper investigating said: “I am urging anyone who has any information about this offence or any other similar incident at the taxi rank or in the vicinity to contact me with details. Surrey Police will not tolerate this type of intrusive sexual offending and will do everything possible to bring such offenders to justice. Members of the public should feel safe to visit and enjoy a night out in their town centres.”

A 37-year-old man from Guildford is currently on bail in relation to the incident.
