Police officers were called to an incident involving a collision between a van and a pedestrian this evening (Tuesday, February 23) at around 5pm.
The female pedestrian was walking with two dogs close to a footpath near Newlands Corner when the collision occurred. She has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and her next of kin have been informed.
The driver involved stopped at the scene.
Sergeant Dan Pascoe of Surrey Police said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area around that time to get in touch with any dashcam footage or further information.”
The road was temporarily closed whilst emergency services were at the scene.
