A woman was sexually assaulted in Guildford on Sunday (July 31).

The woman was walking along York Road at around 12.40am when she noticed a man walking in the same direction as her. The man began speaking to her as she proceeded along London Road to its junction with Clandon Road, continuing to follow her as she carried on walking.

The man then produced a knife before inappropriately touching her but she was able to walk away from the man and leave the area.

The man is described as white, around 18-25 years old, 5ft 8in height and of athletic build with black curly hair which was short at the sides and longer on top. He spoke with an accent, possibly Italian, and was wearing a light grey or white long-sleeved top with light blue jeans.

We’d like to speak to anyone who was passing through the area at the time and may have dashcam or CCTV footage, or anyone who may recognise the description of the suspect.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone who may have experienced something similar to please report it to us straightaway, your report will be taken extremely seriously.”
