Finlay, George, Nelly and Eva. Baking done, it’s time for the sale.

Six-year-old primary school children: Finlay, Nelly, Eva and George put their baking gloves on and baked for Ukraine in Down Road, Merrow on Sunday.

The children, classmates who attend Boxgrove Primary School, wanted to do something to help other children and refugees from the conflict. Cakes were made and on Sunday afternoon road bake sale commenced.

Hurray! £360 being raised to help the refugees.

Nelly said: “We have spoken about Ukraine a bit at home. I felt very sad about the mummies and children having to leave their homes and wanted to help. I hope the money goes to helping them.”

There was a wonderful response from all the residents, lots of cake was eaten and over £350 was raised for the Ukraine DEC appeal. They hoped they could play a small part in helping inspire others to support and support children and refugees from the war.
