A film crew in attendance somewhat gave the game away in that it was more than a just a bit of busking. What’s more, singer and reporter on BBC 1’s One Show, Cerys Matthews, was also there and played some songs with another group of musicians.

It’s rumoured that the surprise performance was being filmed as part of this year’s BBC Children in Need night of fundraising for good causes on Friday, November 15.

The clips filmed in Guildford High Street may be used then or on the One Show in the coming week.

But as the cameras rolled a crowd gathered – all while the monthly farmers’ market was taking place.

Ian Ross, who took these photos on his smart phone, said: “I was surprised to see Chas and Dave in Guildford High Street playing live. When they were about to go the crowd who had gathered shouted for more, so they played a bit of their famous hit Rabbit.”
