Teenage Girl Sexually Assaulted Near Golf Club’s Car park

A teenage girl was sexually assaulted in woodland near Guildford Golf Club on Saturday evening at about 9pm.

In appealing for witnesses, Surrey Police has said the assault took place off Grove Road, next to the golf club’s car park, where a teenage girl was assaulted by two boys.

It is believed that a number of teenagers were in the area at the time attending a gathering on Merrow Downs.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Marlon Nolan said: “Incidents of this nature will understandably cause concern in the community; however I would like to reassure residents that it is being taken extremely seriously.

“We believe that there may have been a number of teenagers in the area at the time at a gathering on the downs. If you were there, or know anyone that was present please get in touch with us with any information you may have.

“I would also appeal to parents or guardians of children who may have attended to contact us if you have overheard anything.

“It is understandable that some people may not want to talk directly to police officers, in which case you can talk anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

On Monday the police stated that a teenage boy had been arrested in connection with the incident and was in custody.
