logo-surrey-police-darkBGThe incident happened at around 4.45pm when the brown Mercedes liveried vehicle was driving away from the Cathedral Hill Industrial Estate off Midleton Road. A white Mercedes Sprinter van cut in front of the courier driver and blocked his path. A suspect got out and entered the delivery lorry, threatened the driver and forced him to the floor.

The offender then drove the delivery van to the back of an industrial unit on the Ladymead Retail Park where they stole a number of parcels, including some containing jewellery, from the back of the van and made off.

The suspects are described as four white men. One was wearing a grey hooded top, black trousers, white gloves, white trainers and had little or no hair. The second is described as wearing a blue cap or hooded top, blue trousers and white trainers. The third suspect is described as wearing a beige jacket, a black hooded top, grey trousers and brown shoes.

Detective Inspector Paul Burrill said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who may have any information relating to this incident. If you saw these vehicles in the vicinity of the industrial park yesterday please think back and call Surrey Police if you can remember any details which struck you as unusual.”

Witnesses are asked to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45140043603 or by using the online reporting system found at http://www.surrey.police.uk/. Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
