Three Arrested, One Still Wanted, Following Armed Robbery at Stoughton Bookmakers

Three people have been arrested and one is still wanted for questioning, following an armed robbery at a betting shop in Stoughton on Monday morning (November 14).

The incident occurred at Ladbrokes betting shop in Worplesdon Road around 10.40am.

Surrey Police has this afternoon (November 16), released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to an armed robbery at a betting shop in Stoughton on Monday (November 14).

Detective Constable Emily Clarke, who is investigating the incident, said: “We would like to speak to this man in connection with the armed robbery and would urge anyone who recognises him or has any information as to his whereabouts, not to approach him but to contact us straightaway.”

During the robbery a staff member and customer were threatened by a man with a knife and a gun and an amount of cash was taken.

The area was cordoned off while officers carried out a search of the area and there was follow up police activity in Woodbridge Hill near the Coral betting shop as part of the same investigation. The road was closed during the police operation.

A 36-year-old man from Dartford, Kent, a 67-year-old man from Telford and a 34-year-old woman from Telford were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the incident.

They have since been bailed until February 4 while police complete further enquiries into the matter.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are seeking anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting incident reference 45160100450
