Travellers Occupy Common Off Aldershot Road Near Rydes Hill

A group of travellers have parked their vehicles on common land beside the A323 Aldershot Road near Rydes Hill.

They arrived on Friday evening (July 22), making their way on to the land via an entrance that is close to the Black Bison pub.

Surrey Wildlife Trust has responsibilty for the area of common land.

It is understood that the travellers have indicted that they will move on Sunday (July 24).

It is expected that Surrey Wildlife Trust staff will inspect the site after the travellers have left and will also be in contact with Surrey County Council’s traveller liaison officer if necessary.
