Two men have been arrested for drugs offences after a warrant was carried out in Guildford on Friday (October 18).

A small amount of a brown substance, believed to be class A drugs, was found as a result of the warrant which was carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Barnwood Road.

A 33-year-old man from Guildford was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug and has been released on bail, pending analysis of the substance, to return to Guildford police station on November 26.

A 17-year-old male from Guildford was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs after police discovered a quantity of drugs at the same address. He was also released on bail pending analysis of the substance, to return to Guildford police station on November 26.

Guildford Neighbourhood Inspector Lynette Shanks said: “These arrests demonstrate our commitment to tackling the use and supply of drugs in Guildford and sends a strong message to those committing crime or dealing drugs that we will relentlessly pursue them. Not only are those dependent on drugs harming themselves but anyone who has been a victim of the associated crime or anti-social behaviour is also affected.

Surrey Police Badge“If you have been a victim of anti-social behaviour linked to drug use please report it to your Safer Neighbourhood Team. This can be done anonymously and action will be taken.”

Insp Shanks added: “I want the community to have confidence in the fact Surrey Police will work hard to make your neighbourhood a pleasant place to live and if necessary we will not hesitate to take such action again”.
