Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses following the sexual assault on a teenage girl in Ash and have released further information about a second incident that happened in Ash on the same day.

The assault happened at around 4pm on Tuesday (October 3) in Britten Close, near Ash Station, when a 17-year-old girl was pulled into a vehicle and sexually assaulted. The victim managed to escape and reported the attack to the police.

Officers quickly attended the scene and carried out enquiries that led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man from Dudley, in the West Midland. He remains in police custody.

While carrying out house-to-house enquiries, officers received a further report that at a similar time a woman was approached in Ash Church Road, also near Ash Station, by a man in a vehicle who asked her to get into his car.

A member of the public intervened.

Police have not traced the woman involved and today issued a description of her. She is described as white with blonde hair, around 30-years-old, possibly with a Polish accent. She was wearing knee-high boots with a heel. She called her boyfriend to come and pick her up.

Police have appealed for the woman to come forward.

Guildford Borough Commander Blaine Rafferty assured the public that such incidents are rare, adding: “There are a number of officers working on the investigation. You will see officers in the area as they continue to carry out enquiries and I’d encourage you to speak with them if you have any concerns.”

A police statement said: “If you witnessed either incident, know the woman we have described or have any other information which may help our investigation, please contact us quoting 45230111750.”
