Victories At Last After Losing Run For Castle Green (That Is Definitely Not Folding)

The new president of Guildford’s Castle Green Bowling Club, Shirley West, has scotched rumours that the club is folding.

Shirley said: ” I would like to put the records straight with bowlers from other clubs in the area. Guildford Borough Council is definitely not going to close Castle Green Bowling Club in order to grow potatoes or cabbages on the green!

“The club is a thriving concern, both financially and membership wise, and will continue enjoying the challenge of meeting our rival clubs in gladiatorial bowling battles for at least the next 10 years.”
