Wetherspoons Incident – Man Charged

A man has been charged following an altercation at Wetherspoon’s pub in Guildford town centre on Thursday, March 9.

Mark Ian Golding, 52, from Springside Court, Guildford, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and driving while over the prescribed limit.

He appeared at Redhill Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 11, where he was remanded into custody. He will appear at Guildford Crown Court on April 7.

During the incident one man suffered non-serious injuries as a result of a bladed article and another suffered unconsciousness from being kicked and punched.
