Witness Appeal After Investigation into the Death of a Man in Guildford

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a 40-year-old man at an address on The Mount in Guildford between Monday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 19.

A post-mortem is still to be held.

A police spokesperson said: “We are currently looking to establish the man’s movements in the days prior to his death. We are particularly looking to speak to anyone who might have seen him walking and interacting with another man on Portsmouth Road at the junction with The Mount at around 10pm on Friday, April 14.”

The dead man is described as white, in his forties with a slim build. He had short, light-coloured hair and was wearing dark jeans and a dark jacket with a fur-trim hood. He may also have been wearing a baseball cap.

He was reported to have been interacting with a white man of medium build who had a closely shaved head, a short beard and was wearing glasses, dark trousers and a dark jacket.

The spokesperson continued: “Were you in the Portsmouth Road area on Friday, April 14 between about 9.30pm and 10pm? Do you have CCTV, dashcam, helmet cam or mobile phone footage that might have captured this man’s movements?
