Witness Appeal Following Collision in Bookham

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after a collision between a pedestrian and a car in Bookham on Monday evening (May 1).

The collision took place on Lower Road at around 10.30pm after an altercation between a pedestrian and a man in a blue Ford Focus. The victim, a man in his thirties, received hospital treatment for serious injuries.

A 27-year-old man from Horley was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving. He remains in custody.

The road was closed for a period of time whilst officers carried out enquiries.

Inspector James Green, Borough Commander for Mole Valley, said: “This is a concerning incident for the residents of Bookham, and I would like to reassure them that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with our investigation, which appears to have been an isolated incident.

“Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries today [May 2] and I would encourage anyone with information which could assist our investigation to report it to us.”
