Feature Surrey police badge 3A dog is believed to have bitten a woman twice as she was walking on the tow path along the Basingstoke canal between Mytchett and Ash Vale earlier this month. Surrey Police is now appealing for information.

The woman was walking along the tow path which runs adjacent to Station Approach on July 11 between 2.45 and 3.15pm, when the dog went past her and jumped up at her before biting her on the arm. As she tried to fight the dog off, it bit her again.

The dog, which did not appear to have an owner or a lead, is described as a German shepherd type dog with black and tan colouring.
