Woman, Mid-Twenties, Dies in Early Morning A3 Collision

A woman has died following a collision on the A3 earlier this morning (January 11). Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses.

Police were called to the A3 between the Send Junction and Guildford Junction at around 2am following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a car.

A police spokesperson said: “The woman, in her mid-twenties, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

Both directions of carriageway were closed for several hours while emergency services, dealt with the incident.

The spokesperson continued: “Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident remain ongoing. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly anyone with any dashcam footage, to contact us straightaway quoting incident reference P22006930 via:

“If you do not wish to leave your name, please call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

In another incident on the same stretch of road two vehicles ended up deep into a bordering field.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A3 Northbound near to the Ripley junction at around 1.30pm on January 8.

“Both cars had come off of the dual-carriageway. Paramedics checked the occupants of the car at the roadside and no injuries were reported.”

    I can’t even start to understand what the young woman must have been going through to be on the A3 at such a time and yet our world just lets the emergency services deal with it. We are all people.
