Highways Repair Bulletin September 4

This week there will be road or lane closures at the A3/M25 (see table below for details) and in: Guildford (North Street, Stoke Road, Swan Lane, Walnut Tree Close, Woodbridge Road) Puttenham and Seale.

Traffic light signals or stop/go signs will be operating in: Ash, Chilworth, Gomshall, Guildford (Aldershot Road, Gravetts Lane, Leapale Road, Portsmouth Road, Stoke Road), Peasmarsh, Ripley, Send, Shalford, Wood Street and Worplesdon.

See list below for further details. It is published by Surrey County Council and is also available on the SCC website. It shows the current works planned or underway in the borough.

    It would be nice if some attention could be paid to the pavements as well. In my area, Jacob’s Well, Stoughton, and Westborough, I see many that are rutted, undulating, lifted by tree roots, potholed and covered in poorly done repairs or reinstatements by utility companies.

    It would also be nice if so-called “Dropped Kerbs” were actually dropped to the level of the adjoining road surface…many of them stand anything around 4″ (10cm) above the road surface, which makes them very difficult for wheelchair/mobility scooter users to navigate.
