In response to: ‘Shame on You’, SCC Told After Backdown on Climate Change

Well done Cllr Jonathan Essex. So sad that there are still some people in denial about the seriousness of climate change.

The older generation have the power but the least to lose. Thank goodness the younger generation are making their voice felt.

We do all need to do our bit but it would help if our politicians and the wealthy class took the lead. Why are people still flying around in private jets and helicopters? Why do the motorcades delivering Theresa May to a meeting in Brussels need so many vehicles?

If it is about security, the safest approach would be to turn up driving a Ford Fiesta and no-one would notice (other makes will do).

Why are tourist joy rides into space being planned for billionaires? Why are we planning to build on greenfield sites when there is no genuine need to? Thank you, Surrey County Council, for what you are doing – but all our authorities need to do far more.
