In response to: Guildford Mourns Gordon Bridger, the Former Mayor Who Loved His Town
Guildford has lost a true Guildfordian, his passion for our borough inspired so many people through the years of his service. That service continued to his dying day, still fighting for what was right and proper.
Our thoughts are with his wife Jean and the rest of his family. When the time is right we will honour his commitment to our town.
I shall miss him dearly, always intelligent, never dull, rarely wrong. A great man.

I well remember Gordon Bridger when I was chairman of the South West Surrey Community Health Council [CHC] (Then part of the NHS and the patients’ “watchdog”). Gordon was one of the non-executive members, a role he took in addition to his council and ward duties.
He was assiduous in all he did, punctilious without being pedantic, an asset to the CHC and a further champion for NHS services and the people of Guildford. He will be sorely missed.

A sad day indeed. He was always ready to offer sage advice to our Group. Our thoughts are with his family.
