Having read this week on social media about one of GBC’s Parks Team who had worked many years and done such a marvellous job now retiring. It’s a shame this person doesn’t receive something special for their lengthy service. Freedom of the town for example?

Their efforts over the years must have brought so much joy to so many Guildfordians and visitors. Reading this piece made me think about person unknown to many.

So hats off to Dave who retired from GBC after 40 years this month. He headed the team that planted the Castle Grounds. Come on GBC a bit of a biography and celebration of this man and his team’s work is called for.
