In response to: War Years Talk By David Rose

Thanks to David Rose for a superb talk to members of the Guildford Town Past & Present Facebook group about Guildford in WW2 in front a capacity crowd of 100 people at the Keep pub last Monday evening. He brought along various pieces of shrapnel from an unexploded bomb detonated in Onslow Village and bullets from Brooklands factory air raid in 1940 plus other artefacts from the 1940s which brought it all a bit closer to home.

The slide show featured many previously unseen photos of the local home guard and bomb damage inflicted by the Luftwaffe in the Guildford area, anyone interested in local history should make a point of hearing David giving this talk at a later date.

I certainly did too. Not only does David Rose have vast local knowledge but he gives an interesting talk on such a wide range of subjects. Everyone enjoys his talks on local history. Thank you David.
