Letter: Tunsgate Man Has A New Home

From Malcolm Crockford

In response to: What Has Happened to Tunsgate Man?

I have been in contact with the sculptor, Martin Jennings FRBS, who has kindly identified Tunsgate Man’s new home:

“My green man sculpture from Tunsgate Square was returned to me when the site was recently redeveloped. The bronze bowl and lettered discs went elsewhere. The man is now sited in the garden of friends, Tom and Sue Stuart Smith. Tom is one of the country’s finest landscape architects and together we have found a perfect new site for the sculpture, very different to its Tunsgate position as it is now striding uphill between two oak trees.

“If you or anyone would like to visit the garden to see it, they have open days during the summer which I highly recommend. The gardens are beautiful. Here is the link which Tom is happy for you to share with any of the green man’s fans in Guildford!”

    Hooray!

Now can we have the resiting of the Virtual Fountain sculpture in Printing House Square, which used to be viewed when the way through was a right of way?
