The GBC Parks Department must be praised for making Stoke Park look wonderful in this glorious spring weather.
They have repaired the winter damage now that the ground is drying, cutting grass, white-lining pitches and pruning low branches along London Road in readiness for whenever we can get back to some sense of normality.
And for all those who seem unable to walk or run without speakers jammed in their ears or jabbering on their phones, try taking them out, get away from the main roads and appreciate the relative quiet, with few planes overhead, the spring birdsong and the trees starting to bud.
And if you have a garden, step out there at night and really appreciate the stillness. Even the stars look brighter with less pollution in the sky.
